Chelsea Shephard

Soprano

 Chelsea Shephard, known for her "luscious" voice (Chicago Tribune) and "flawless legato" (Opera News), joined the Metropolitan Opera as a Regular Chorus member in 2022/2023. She'll sing solo roles in Madama Butterfly and La Rondine, broadcast worldwide. Chelsea debuted at Carnegie Hall as a soloist in Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem and later performed Ethel Smyth's The Prison there. She has appeared with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Madison Opera, and more.

Shephard has collaborated with New York Festival of Song and Madison Bach Musicians and performed diverse repertoire, including Bach's B Minor Mass and Handel arias. She boasts an impressive opera repertoire and has won several prestigious competitions. She holds a Master of Music from Rice University and a Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from DePaul University.

Currently based in New York, she released the album "Songs by Mozart, Haydn & Schubert" and appeared on recordings like Paul Bowles' Picnic Cantata and The Metropolitan Opera's GRAMMY-nominated "A Concert for Ukraine."
