ORIADA ISLAMI - The founder of Metro Opera Tech, born into a family of opera singers and with 25 years of experience , performing at some of the most prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opera North UK, The Queen Elisabeth Hall, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Frankfurt Theatre House, Opéra Ballet de Lyon, The Bunkamura Concert Hall in Tokyo, Art Center Opera Theatre in Seoul Korea, and the Metropolitan Opera House NYC, she's witnessed the grandeur of opera firsthand.
Understanding the challenges and dreams that artists carry within them, Her mission is twofold: first, to provide emerging artists with the chance to perform alongside established luminaries, allowing them to hone their craft and navigate the complexities of the artistic world. Second, Oriada aims to foster an environment where all artists, regardless of their discipline, can thrive.
In her view, connections are the lifeblood of any artist's journey, and innovation is the heartbeat of their work. Oriada believes that by exploring alternatives and inspiring audiences through profound emotional and visual engagement, artists can transcend the constraints of tradition and breathe new life into their art.
Oriada Islami's career has allowed her to collaborate with some of the world's finest artists, directors, choreographers, musicians, singers, and dancers. In 2003, Ms Islami stood out among over 1,000 women who auditioned in London and was selected by world-renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp to join the cast of a Tony Award-nominated Broadway production, "Movin Out," performing the role of Brenda and Judy, as conceived and created by Tharp and featuring the songs of Billy Joel.
Her work as a Director, Choreographer, Producer and Performer in the short video "Breath" was awarded with the prominent Venice 2020 Best International Short Video, and Indie Short Fest 2020 Outstanding Achievement Award Screen Dance. This showcases her versatility and skill in different aspects of the performing arts.
In 2021, Oriada Islami's founding of The Opera Tech represented the culmination of her lifelong passion for the arts and her unwavering belief in the potential of the next generation of talented artists. With this endeavor, she embarked on a path dedicated to the preservation and continued vibrancy of the extraordinary art of music and opera, ensuring that it thrives for generations to come.
