Projection Art and Visual Narration

Born in Qamishli, Syria, Mourad now resides in New York City after earning his Master of Fine Arts from the Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts in Armenia. He's known for his unique blend of live drawing and animation with music, collaborating with renowned musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma and Kim Kashkashian.

As the only visual artist in Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, Mourad has performed at prestigious venues worldwide including Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He's also been a resident teaching artist at Brandeis University and Harvard University.

Mourad's recent commissions include works like "Israel in Egypt" for the Los Angeles Master Chorale and "Sound of Stone" for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. His acclaimed performance piece "Home Within" has toured globally, including an expanded version with the Silkroad project in the United States.
